Need a new cowl that’s less on the bulky side and more on the pretty side while still functioning to keep you warm? My Sweet Cowl Pattern is just what you need. Perfect to cozy up in on cold winter days. This cowl is a quick make just rounds of simple stitches.
This cowl is worked in the round. You will join each round as you go. If you’d like to made yours more wide simply add more rows repeating the pattern.
Pattern:
I used
6mm crochet hook, yarn 1 skein of Shetland mist chunky. Any yarn and right size hook will do.

ch = chain stitch
sl st = slip stitch
DC = double crochet
Treple = tr
Puff stitch = Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pull through (3 loops on hook) yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pull through (5 loops on hook) yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pull through (7 loops on hook) yarn over pull through all 7 loops.
To begin:
Chain 76 sl st into first stitch to make a circle
Row 1 > 1 DC into each stitch around, join with sl st, ch2.
Row 2 > 1 tr into each stitch around, join with sl st, ch1.
Row 3 > 1DC into each stitch around, join with sl st, ch3
Row 4 > 1 puff stitch into same space as ch3, ch1, miss one stitch, 1 puff stitch into next space, ch1, miss one stitch, 1 puff stitch into next space, repeat all the way around, join with all st, Ch3.
Row 5 > 1 puff stitch into same space as ch3, ch1, 1 puff stitch into ch1 space from previous round, ch1, miss one stitch, 1 puff stitch into ch1 space from previous round ch1 repeat all the way around, join with sl st.
Repeat rows 1-5 two more times.
To finish sew in all loose ends.
