Ice cream tote bag pattern

Make one of these pretty Ice Cream Tote bags, perfect for carrying all your stuff to the beach or market. With different coloured yarn this pattern would fit anyone’s style.

Hello and welcome back to my blog, if you new here welcome. Today I’m sharing a cute fun pattern - my Ice Cream Tote Bag! That I released way back in 2016. This bag is super simple in construction as is made up in one bIg circular pattern.

Pattern:

Materals, I used natural craft cotton in colours Cream and Pink and a 5m hook. Any cotton yarn will work with right size hook.

Abbreviations - UK terms

ch- chain stitch

Tr- triple stitch

slst- slip stitch

Decrease triple crochet

Notes, chain 2 at the beginning of each round, this does not count has a stitch.

To begin ch3, work 12 tr into first ch from hook, join with sl st into first st. (12tr)

2 - ch2, 2 tr in each st around, join with sl st into first st. (24tr)

3 - ch2, 1tr in next st, 2tr in the next st around, repeat pattern, join with sl st into first st. (36tr)

4 - ch2, tr in the next 2 st, 2tr in the next, repeat around, join with sl st into first st. (48tr)

5 -

ch2, tr in the next 3 st, 2tr in the next, repeat around, join with sl st into first st.

Changing stitch pattern here:

Do not slip stitch to the top of each starting ch, put your hook in the first ch1 space of each round.

6 - ch2 does not count as a st, tr ch1 in each st around.

7-26, tr ch1 in each ch1 space around.

This is where I changed colour.

27 - ch2, tr in each ch 1 space.

28 - ch2, tr between each tr of last round.

29 - ch2, repeat round 28. Do not fasten off.

Handles, worked in rows.

Row 1 - ch3 counts has first stitch, 1 tr in the next 9 st (10)..

Row 2 - ch2 turn, tr decrease in the next 2 st, 1 tr in next 6 stitches , tr decrease in the last 2 st.

Row 3 - ch 2 turn, tr decrease in the next 2 st, 1 tr in next 4 stitches, tr decrease in the last 2 st.

Row 4-12, ch2 turn, 1 tr into each st to end of row, turn (carry on if you want longer straps).

Now fold your bag in half, to detemine where to start the strap on the other side, repeat pattern for first strap.

To finish I crocheted the 2 sides of the strap together on the wrong side.

Sew up all your lose ends. Bag finished

Hope the pattern makes sense and your happy with your finished bag.

left over yarn from your wool and the gang kit? why not turn it into a stunning wall hanging

What do you do with your left over yarns? I had some gorgeous left over crazy sexy wool from a jumper kit I received from the awesome Wool and the Gang. The jumper I made is called the heart of mine jumper. The kit comes with everything you need to make it the right amount of yarn in any colour of your choice the pattern and crochet hook. The pattern is very easy to follow and you can make it in no time at all I chose the colour Cameo rose, such a pretty colour, crazy sexy wool is so squishy and soft to touch, imagine how lovely this jumper is to wear.

I was very happy with my new jumper, and even more happy because I nearly had a whole skin of crazy sexy wool left over.  I wanted to make something visual and special with this last piece of yarn also this Cameo rose colour is so pretty and calming I could stare at it all day long that's why I decided to make a cute chunky wall hanging.

How to make a wall hanging

Materials

150g of crazy sexy wool

15mm crochet hook

yarn needle

any stick you can hang your square on.

The square is called a square inside a square, the pattern is not my pattern, I found it on Pinterest from hooksandyarns.blogspot.com. I made my square in just one colour. You can use any pattern really, I just love the look and texture you get when using this pattern. When you have finished your square sew in all the ends. Now to attach some tassels, I put one tassel through every stitch at the bottom of my square.

How to make your tassels

With one piece of yarn 24cm long, fold it in half with the loop at the end, then push it through your first stitch, then gently pull the yarn threads through your stitch and loop and tighten, repeat till the very last stitch. Don't worry if some of your tassels are longer then the others, you can give them a little trim once you've finished.

Attaching your stick

Using your yarn needle, sew the stick onto the square, attach another piece of yarn to each end of your stick which you will use to hang your wall hanging.

I hope you have enjoyed this wall hanging idea, please do tag me on Instagram @sweet_Sharna if your have an account and make one.
