The easiest glove ever!

Granny Squares are one of my favourite things to make. If like me you crave a quick granny square fix this speedy project is for you. I’ve been making these for years and especially enjoy gifting them.

Materials:

I’ve used Knitcraft Leader of the Pac Aran in colours - Cream - Pink - Wine.

(Any yarn will work with right size hook)

5.mm hook

Yarn needle

Stitches used:

Dc (double crochet) or UK (treble)

Ch (chain)

Sp (space)

Notes:

Crochet yourself two seven - round granny squares; you can make them bigger or smaller, depending on hand size.

Ch3 at beginning of each round counts as a dc.

The only chain stitches are used in corner spaces.

Make two

Round 1: ch4, 2 dc into the first ch, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 3dc , ch2, 3dc (all in the same st). (4 dc, 4 ch 1 sp) sl st to join, fasten off.

Round 2: join new colour in any ch2 sp, ch3, 2 dc into the same sp, ch2, 3dc into same sp. (3dc, ch2, 3dc) in each ch2 sp around. ( 8 3dc, 4 ch1 sp) sl st to join, fasten off.

Round 3: join new colour in any ch2 sp, ch3, 2dc into same sp, ch2, 3dc into same sp. (3dc) in next sp, (3dc, ch2, 3dc) in next ch2 sp. Repeat pattern to end of round, sl st to join. Fasten off.

Round 4: onwards: simply repeat round 3 until you reach your desired size.

When you have finished both squares, fasten off and sew in loose ends. Fold the squares in half sew up the sides leaving a hole for your thumb.

It’s as easy as that!
